Young Visionaries Youth Leadership Academy’s African American Student Achievement Program (AASAP) is a program designed to address and reduce suspensions through effec-tive implementation of positive behavior support systems. AASAP is a goal oriented program designed to support the educational and professional aspirations of African American Stu-dents. The Program seeks to increase the completion of developmental courses, retention and graduation rates. To accomplish this, the program increases exposure to educational, profes-sional and civic The African American Student Achievement Program through mentoring will seek to:
o Improve Self- Confidence & Self-Esteem
o Increase Motivation
o Broaden Horizons & Student Experiences
o Build Relationships
o Establish Employment Development Skills
o Support to Graduation
o Increase Communication Skills
o Increase Focus & Discipline In All Areas
